Support for WorkSafe NZ Visits
WorkSafe New Zealand
WorkSafe is the New Zealand Government organisation which administers and enforces the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. There is a nationwide team of WorkSafe Inspectors who are actively engaged in workplace safety assessments, inspections and accident investigations.
Often WorkSafe will call the management of a business in advance to arrange an inspection of its premises. Any workplace assessment or inspection conducted by WorkSafe may result in—verbal direction, a compliance letter, an improvement notice or a prohibition notice being issued to the business owner or individuals.
These types of notices are issued by an inspector when existing matters of non compliance are observed and the business is perceived to be in breach. This may include any breach when a business fails to meet industry standards such as Codes of Practice and Good Practice Guidelines. These notices can also be issued when there is an obvious failing by the company to comply with the Regulations and the Act.
Health and Safety Systems can assist with:
Pre-visit assessment to gauge your workplace compliance prior to a visit by WorkSafe
Assist with developing practical action plans in response to improvement and prohibition notices issued by WorkSafe NZ.
